Actually, in the GW:EN preview, I simply ran my Mind Blast E/P with TNTF. For NM I tend to run it with Liquid Flame and a couple of AoE spells. It seemed to work fine. Sure, Destroyers are immune to burning, but they still take damage from fire. Maybe not as effectice as MoR did not trigger, but seemed to work fine otherwise

Ok, I think we know already how leet you guys are. Can the autistic clubnerds please move on?

I don't think (maybe sadly) that there can be much of an alternative to "Fire Magic" since it offers all that counts in PvE better than any other line: massive AoE damage.

Nice posts Alex and Strangelove (you sure your not the same person?) Anyway in pve your playing against an ai they will always act in the same way so you can always equip a effective teambuild to wipe them. You try to control theyre aggro and keep them in a certain formation do you understand im not talking about a ball up/spike ok?.Now lets look at those destroyer imagine theyre hm,your Searing heat will scatter and they react very sensitive to ms so you lose aggro, df gives you a delay of 5 sec max then you lose your aggro and get overrunned.Destoyers are highly resistant to fire damage so you have to change that damage output for starters. So your main offence will be Ri which has about a damage output of 40 pure damage max with it you wont effect a burning which does a lot on hm foes.Im simply stating that there would be better proffessions to fill in the role of the current fire ele and also those pve only skills can change a lot ... i cant give you any advise on which build would be best for your ele in gw/en cos we simply still have to find out... Now im done with you i wish you all gl whereever you go...peace

Yeah. You just run the same SH/Mind Blast/whatever, and just lay Winter down.
The Destroyer problem is solved.

w/e its the same thing you will keep saying till eternity at least till gw/en goes live before you know what your up against at this point your trying to defend your build against my personal opinion when you have no clue what kind of foes you will meet and you seem to be on a personal vendetta as well... so here's my head and here take the rest as well

I'm far more handsome and witty.

I could see running a dual attuned blinder against destroyers, not because mind blast is bad at killing stuff, but because my hench monks always fail at keeping things alive, especially against big scary things waving around large blunt objects.

bk on topic - pls post your successful ele builds that you used in eotn preview. (used against the destroyers, in dungeons ect.)
Then we can see which element is optimal for the expansion.

Someone in another forum has mentioned that [skill]Winter[/skill] is currently bugged, stating that damage is converted to cold only after armor calculations have been factored in. Can anyone else confirm/deny this?

For EotN I have been using mindblast, searing flames, and glyph of renewal based builds depending on the situation.

Mmm...I likee splashing earth, not so much going primarily with it.

Mindblast is a nice thing, but then again is SH.

Personally....I <3 Deep Freeze and water magic. Maelstrom is always on my eles bar simply because it's an invaluable interrupt to spellcasters.

I've ben running an Earth/Air build for the most part on my heroes and I bring either Cynn or Herta as backup. Mostly herta for the double dose of sandstorm.

Herta has ward against elements and my hero has ward against foes, so life is pretty sweet.
